8 Days Program - "Olive trees and Vineyards" Athens, Kalamata, Koroni, Methoni, Pylos, Ancient Olympia, Patras, Nafpaktos, Delphi, Osios Loukas

Day 1 - Arrival in Athens Greece

Αrrive Athens, capital city of Greece and start your journey for a life-changing experience. Meet and assist at the airport and transfer to the centre of the city. On route to the hotel you will have a first glance of the ancient treasureson a condenced city tours. Check into your hotel free time to your leisure for a walking tour to Plaka (the old City). Overnight.

Day 2 - Athens

After breakfast, sightseeing tour of Athens, featuring the highlights of this ancient capital with a visit to Acropolis and the fascinating New Acropolis museum. Return to the Hotel and the rest of the day is free for you to explore the Greek capital on your own.Overnight.

Day 3 – Athens - Kalamata ‘Olive oil'

After breakfast we depart for our trip into the Peloponnesos peninsula. Passing through the arid countryside, the olive's natural habitat, evergreen Olive Groves on its mountainous sun-drenched landscape, we reach Kalamata capital of Messinia. There, we will have a presentation at a traditional olive press and afterwards we will have the unforgettable experience of tasting the local products, bread with olive oil and oregano, Kalamata olives etc. After a short walk in the centre of Kalamata check in the hotel for overnight.

Day 4 – Kalamata – Koroni – Methoni – Pylos – Ancient Olympia

After breakfast departure for Koroni. "The Medieval Lady " as it was known, Koroni in the old days was one of the most important commercial and naval Venetian centres of the East. Even today the marks of its former nobility are not extinct, neither its Medieval colour, impressed upon its old mansions, its narrow streets and its sizeable Venetian castle of 1250. Next stop will be Methoni one of the most historic sites of Moreas . It boasts the possession of the biggest and best-preserved Venetian castle of the Mediterranean. Next stop is Pylos, a charming colourful city, built amphitheatrically on the basis of a plan made in 1828 by French officers. The castle dominates on the western side of the city built in 1572, Niokastro is one of the most impressive of Moreas. Late in the afternoon arrival in Ancient Olympia for overnight.

Day 5 – Ancient Olympia – Patras‘winery' – Nafpaktos

After breakfast we will visit the original home of the Olympic Games first held in 776 B.C. Olympia was a sacred precinct to the god Zeus, whose temple once housed one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This morning's sightseeing takes in the ancient stadium where the games were held and the temples of Zeus and his wife Hera. Next will be a visit to a local winery where we will have a guided tour around the premises and the wine-yards and at the end we will have the experience of wine –tasting. In the afternoon we will pass from Patras, capital of Peloponnesos and largest port of the west coast. Stop awhile to see St.Andrews church and then cross the majestic newly build bridge from Rio to Antirio across the Gulf of Corinth, and proceed to the picturesque village of Nafpaktos. Check into the hotel and then visit the monastery of Metamorfosis Sotiros where we will have a unique experience discovering the world in a monastery for monks with a huge cultural and humanitarian deed. Overnight in Nafpaktos.

Day 6 – Nafpaktos - Galaxidi – Delphi – Osios Loukas – Athens

After breakfast departure, passing the beautiful fishing village of Galaxidi, we reach Delphi, in the ancient times known as the ‘Navel of the Earth'. Delphi was the greatest Oracle of the ancient world where people flocked to seek advice. Now it's one of the grandest sights in Greece; it's theatre and Temple of Apollo still stand in their lovely natural setting. Our next stop will be the monastery of Osios Loukas with beautiful Byzantine frescoes. One more stop along the way in Livadia to see the old watermill by the waterfalls. Late in the afternoon return to Athens, check into the hotel,overnight.

Day 7 - Athens

This day will be at you're your leisure to xplore the shops and museums. In the afternoon you can take the optional excursion to romantic Cape Sounion. In the evening Greek dinner night with live entertainment, music and dancing, for a fitting farewell to this fascinating country.

Day 8 - Athens return

Transfer from your Hotel to the Airport for your return flight home.
