10 Days Cruising on the Footsteps of Paul

Day 1 Athens

Arrival in Athens, Greece and start your journey for a life-changing experience. Meet and assist at the airport and transfer to the centre of the city. On route to your hotel you will have a first glance of the ancient treasures and Christian history in a condensed city tour with the bus where our guide will point out the House of Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Presidential Palace and the Panathenaic Stadium, also known as the Kallimarmaro (the "beautifully marbled"), an athletic stadium in the centre of Athens that hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Check into your Hotel and have the remainder of the day free to relax or take a stroll along the streets of Athens to enjoy the flavour of the city. This evening you will enjoy the first of many delectable European style dinners.

 

Day 2 Athens-Corinth

Sightseeing and excursion to Corinth. Enjoy sightseeing with a Local Guide in Athens, the most important city in ancient Greece and famed for its culture, learning, and great philosophers. Visit the ACROPOLIS with the Parthenon and AREOPAGUS, where Paul delivered his famous sermon (Acts 17:15-34). Afterward, continue to Corinth for a guided visit of the EXCAVATIONS where Apostle Paul worked for eighteen months with Aquila and Priscilla (Acts 18:1-18).

 

Day 3 Athens–Piraeus (Embarkation)–Mykonos.

Begin your three-night Greece and Turkey CRUISE with a visit to the picturesque island of Mykonos. Free time to explore the island, and then return to the ship for evening entertainment.

 

Day 4 Rhodes.

Dock in Rhodes, where Apostle Paul landed in 51 A.D. (Acts. 21:1). Included guided sightseeing shows you the medieval walled city built by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. Marvel at the beauty of the island, and visit charming LINDOS with its acropolis and imposing Knight's castle.

Day 5 Patmos–Kusadasi, Turkey.

Visit Patmos with free time to discover the "Jerusalem of the Aegean.” You may wish to join the optional tour to the Monastery of St. John and tour the Cave of the Apocalypse where John the Evangelist wrote the Book of Revelation (Rev 1:9-11). Continue your cruise to the Turkish port of Kusadasi, from where another optional excursion is available to the famed ruins and House of Mary, where the Virgin Mary is said to have spent her last days.

 

Day 6 Piraeus, Greece (Disembarkation)–Meteora.

Early morning arrive at the port of Piraeus, disembark and bys bus travel north to Meteora the world famous Byzantine monasteries that are perched precariously on summits of grey rock pinnacles of varied and beautiful shapes. Their history goes back to the 14th century when the monks sought refuge in the cliffside caves then fled higher to build the original wooden shelters, later transformed into monasteries with exquisite Byzantine art. Stay overnight in Kalambaka.

 

Day 7 Thessalonika.

Today you will travel to Thessalonika Second largest city in Greece and capital of the North. Enjoy guided sightseeing of this city, which figures prominently in the New Testament as it is where Paul preached, founded a church, and to whom he wrote two epistles (Acts 17:1-9; 1 Thessalonians and 2 Thessalonians).

 

Day 8 Excursion to Philippi and Kavala.

Full-day excursion accompanied by a Local Guide along the ancient route of Apostle Paul to Amphipolis (Acts 17:1). Journey to Ancient Philippi, where Paul established the first church in Europe and to whom he wrote his letter to the Philippians while in Rome (Acts 16:11- 40; Philippians). Next, continue to Kavala, ancient port of Neapolis (Acts 16:9-11), which Paul visited.

 

Day 9 Thessalonika–Veria.

This morning enjoy a full dat trip to Veria (Beroea of the New Testament), where Paul and Silas were taken (Acts 17:10-15). Visit the BEMA OF APOSTLE PAUL where Paul is said to have stood and preached the Gospel to the local population. Visit the archaeological site of Vergina and return to Thessaloniki.

 

Day 10 Return

Transfer to "Makedoni" International Airport of Thessaloniki for your homebound flight.
